What are some fun photography techniques?
Posted on July 09, 2010 by Ed
I’m trying out different photography techniques for fun. I’ve tried HDR, stereophotography, and will try photo stitching and light painting. I’m wondering what are some other fun techniques out there for me to play with without any additional equipments? Thanks!
I have a Canon 1000D and a 50mm prime lens.
I like playing with silhouettes particularly of people. Posing people is very different when you want to have their features really stand out. There are more profile shots, and if you have a hand in the picture, you need to keep the fingers apart and at a good angle so it doesn’t look like a fist.

Try this put your camera on a tripod and select a scene where nothing will move. At night do a time exposure of at least a half hour (most likely you’ll need to select the smallest aperture you can. Make an image and see what you have. Too light? reduce the time too dark? try doubling the time. It will work and the results are weird to dreamy.
